Chicago Science in the City

Letter from the Mayor

Thank you for your interest in Chicago Science in the City. Through the collaboration of a dynamic group of businesses, civic, cultural and community organizations, together we can better understand how science and technology are vital to how we live, work, learn and play. Science in the City invites you and your family to experience the world of science through two weeks of exciting and educational events that will highlight Chicago’s leadership role in this industry.

This year, during a kick-off celebration in Daley Plaza on October 2, 2007, we will unveil Chicago’s top ten scientific achievements to highlight the City’s dedication to science.

The City will also explore science in Chicago’s neighborhoods through three Science in the City carnivals on October 6th, October 8th, and October 13th. These carnivals will allow residents of all ages to experience hands-on science experiments and activities in their communities.

I invite you and your family to participate in these exciting events planned for Chicago Science in the City.

Sincerely,

Richard M. Daley
