Think Tank Exhibit

Kohls Children Museum 2100 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview, IL, 60026

Think Tank is a hands-on and minds-on exhibit where children are given the opportunity to learn new ways to solve puzzles, riddles, and mind-teasers. The exhibit will begin when visitors apply their smarts as they solve wacky puzzles, experiment with mirror magic, and optical illusions.

From Dreams to Determination: The Legacies of the Dr.s Percy and Anna Julian

The DuSable Museum 740 East 56th Place

Dr. Percy Lavon Julian, a renowned scientist in the field of chemistry, and his wife Dr. Anna Johnson Julian, a social activist and change agent, hold prominent footnotes in the annuals of American history. However, such as many facets of the contributions of African Americans to history, the story of the Julian’s is largely omitted and rarely told. This exhibition, From Dreams to Determination: The Legacy of Doctors Percy and Anna Julian, intends to bring to the forefront their footnote in American history and honor the fascinating legacy of two African Americans whose lives impacted all of humanity.

The Universal Condition: Alleviating Pain

Nearly every human being experiences pain at some point in life. This exhibit examines issues in the perception of pain and chronicles medicine’s quest to relieve it, from the ancient use of psychoactive plants to contemporary laser therapy, focusing on milestones such as the discovery of anesthesia.
